President Donald Trump sharply criticized Rep. Lauren Boebert on Saturday and threatened to support a primary challenger against her after she campaigned alongside one of his most outspoken Republican critics.
Trump directed his criticism at Boebert, a Colorado Republican and longtime ally whom he had previously endorsed, after she appeared with Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky.
Massie has frequently clashed with Trump and remains one of the president’s most vocal Republican opponents in Congress.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump questioned whether anyone would be willing to run against Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District.

“Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert?” Trump wrote.
The president appeared especially angered by Boebert’s decision to support Massie while Trump has already endorsed Massie’s primary challenger, retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein.
Trump described Massie as one of the worst Republicans in Congress and said Boebert’s support for him should invite a serious primary challenge.
Although Trump previously backed Boebert’s reelection campaign, he said he would consider pulling that endorsement if a stronger alternative entered the race.
“If the right person came along, it would be my honor to withdraw that endorsement and support a proper alternative,” Trump wrote.
He also encouraged potential candidates to step forward, saying he would support them if they announced a campaign against Boebert.
Boebert initially avoided giving a detailed response when asked about Trump’s comments, saying she did not want to elevate the dispute further.
However, she later addressed the controversy in a post on X, where she defended her decision to stand by Massie.
“Yes, I saw the President’s post. No, I’m not mad or offended,” Boebert wrote. “I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie.”
Boebert insisted she remains committed to the America First movement and the broader MAGA agenda despite the public disagreement with Trump.
“I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA,” she added.
The dispute highlights growing tension inside the Republican Party as Trump continues using endorsements to shape GOP primaries and punish lawmakers who align with his political opponents.
Boebert has built much of her national profile as a combative conservative and strong Trump supporter, making the public feud especially notable.
Massie, meanwhile, has repeatedly broken with Trump on major policy and spending issues, earning both praise from libertarian-leaning conservatives and criticism from Trump loyalists.
The controversy could create political complications for Boebert as she seeks to maintain support among pro-Trump voters in Colorado while also defending her personal loyalty to Massie.
For Trump, the clash sends another message to Republican lawmakers that supporting his intra-party rivals could carry political consequences.
The situation is expected to draw more attention from conservative activists, donors and potential challengers as the GOP primary season continues heating up.
