Editorial Standards

At The Policy Drop, our commitment is to deliver news that is honest, accurate, and complete. In a media landscape where trust is increasingly hard to earn, we hold ourselves to a high standard — because our readers deserve nothing less.

Fairness

Every story we publish is held to a standard of completeness. Fairness in journalism means more than balance — it means never leaving out facts that matter. Our reporters and editors work to ensure that all relevant perspectives are represented and that no significant detail is omitted, regardless of where it leads.

Transparency

We believe our readers have a right to know how and why we report what we report. Transparency guides every editorial decision we make. Our stories clearly distinguish between news reporting, opinion, and commentary, and we always credit the original sources of information we build upon.

Accuracy

Accuracy is non-negotiable at The Policy Drop. Every claim in our reporting is reviewed and fact-checked by both writers and editors before publication. We clearly distinguish between confirmed facts, credible claims, speculation, and opinion — so readers always know exactly what they’re reading.

Our coverage focuses primarily on U.S. politics, government policy, domestic affairs, and significant global news that impacts American life.

Use of Others' Material

When our reporting draws on the work of other news outlets, we always give full credit to the original source. If we were not the first to break a story, we acknowledge who was.

In cases where we reference or excerpt content from other publications, we clearly indicate the source. Any material we adapt is rewritten to meet our editorial standards while attribution is always preserved.

Our writers may also reference previous Policy Drop coverage when relevant background context adds value to a current story.

Quotations

We do not alter quotes. Every quotation published on The Policy Drop reflects exactly what was said, preserving the speaker’s original words and intent. In rare cases where a quote lacks clarity, our editors may paraphrase — and when they do, it is clearly noted.

Corrections

We strive to get it right the first time. When we don’t, we own it. Any error brought to our attention is reviewed promptly and corrected openly. All corrections are clearly labeled and include an explanation of what changed and why.

The same standard applies to clarifications. If a story is removed entirely, an editor’s note will be published in its place explaining the decision.
