A masked New Jersey suspect has been charged after allegedly using fuel and fireworks inside a Walmart children’s clothing section as a distraction during a major jewelry heist.
Authorities say the suspect created chaos inside the store by setting off fireworks and starting a fire, drawing attention away from the jewelry area while the theft unfolded.
According to reports, the incident happened inside a Walmart location where shoppers and employees were forced to react as smoke, sparks and flames spread through part of the store.
Investigators allege the suspect used the dangerous distraction to help carry out a large-scale theft involving jewelry merchandise.
