Marco Rubio says he would be first to endorse JD Vance for president in 2028

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he would be the first person to endorse Vice President JD Vance if he decides to run for president in 2028.

Rubio made the comments during a recent interview while discussing the future of the Republican Party and potential presidential candidates following President Donald Trump’s current term.

“JD is a very good friend of mine,” Rubio said. “If JD runs for president, I think he would be a phenomenal candidate.”

Rubio also emphasized that he has publicly supported Vance before and would continue backing him moving forward.

“I’ve said publicly and I’ll say it again — I’ll be the first person to endorse him,” Rubio stated.

The remarks quickly gained attention online as speculation surrounding the 2028 Republican primary continues growing despite the next presidential election still being years away.

Vance has become one of the most visible figures inside the Trump administration and remains highly popular among many conservative voters and America First supporters.

Political analysts have increasingly mentioned Vance as a potential future Republican presidential contender due to his close relationship with Trump and growing influence within the party.

Rubio’s endorsement comments also fueled additional discussion about the possibility of a future alliance between the two Republicans after months of media speculation surrounding tensions or competition between them.

Neither Vance nor the White House immediately commented further regarding Rubio’s remarks about a possible 2028 campaign.

As conversations surrounding the Republican Party’s future leadership continue, both Rubio and Vance remain among the most influential conservative figures within Trump’s political movement.
