Jonathan Andic, the son of late Mango founder Isak Andic, has resigned from his role as vice president of the fashion company days after being arrested in connection with his father’s death.
Isak Andic, the billionaire founder of Mango, died in December 2024 after falling from a cliff on a popular walking trail near his home in Catalonia, Spain.
His son has denied wrongdoing and maintains that his father slipped and fell while his back was turned.
In an open letter to the company, Jonathan Andic said he was stepping away because of the pressure surrounding the investigation and what he described as an unfair public narrative against him.

He said he was facing the “gravest” and most unjust accusation a person could face, while insisting that the allegations do not reflect reality.
Mango’s leadership expressed support for Andic following his resignation.
CEO Toni Ruiz and the company’s board said they stand with the Andic family and believe the legal process will be resolved favorably.
The board also said it hopes the matter will be resolved as quickly as possible.
Jonathan Andic had taken over a senior role in the company after his father’s death. Mango, one of Spain’s best-known fashion brands, was built by Isak Andic into a global retail empire with stores across the world.
Authorities in Spain are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
Reports have said investigators are examining whether there were tensions between father and son before the death, though Jonathan Andic has rejected any suggestion of guilt.
No final ruling has been announced, and Andic is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise.
The case has drawn international attention because of the Andic family’s role in building one of Europe’s most successful fashion companies and the dramatic circumstances surrounding the founder’s death.
Why It Matters
The investigation places one of Spain’s most recognizable fashion empires under intense scrutiny. Mango now faces the challenge of maintaining corporate stability while legal questions surrounding the founder’s death continue.
