Rep. Ilhan Omar is pushing back against claims connecting her to an alleged fraud scheme, saying any suggestion that she had knowledge of the matter is completely false.
The Minnesota Democrat released a statement after renewed attention surrounding alleged fraud networks and political connections in the state. Omar said she had no involvement in the scheme and accused critics of attempting to tie her name to the controversy without evidence.

“Any claim that I had knowledge of this scheme is flat-out false,” Omar said in her statement.
The issue has become politically explosive as Republicans and Trump administration officials continue focusing on fraud allegations involving Minnesota programs and government funding.

Critics have argued that elected officials in the state should provide more answers about how alleged fraud was allowed to grow and whether political figures ignored warning signs.
Omar, however, rejected the accusations and said the claims against her are politically motivated.
Her statement pointed back at the Trump administration, suggesting that opponents are using the controversy to attack her rather than focusing on facts.
The allegations come as federal and state officials continue reviewing fraud-related cases that have drawn national attention and raised questions about oversight, taxpayer money and accountability.
Omar’s critics say the public deserves transparency from officials connected to Minnesota’s political leadership.
Supporters of Omar argue that accusations should not be treated as fact unless investigators produce evidence directly linking her to wrongdoing.
The controversy is likely to remain a major political issue as Republicans continue using fraud cases to criticize Democratic leadership and government oversight failures.
For now, Omar is making clear that she denies any knowledge of the alleged scheme and is rejecting claims tying her to it as false.
