Kai Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, has been granted a restraining order against a man she says repeatedly stalked her in South Florida.
According to court filings cited in reports, the 19-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump filed a petition in Florida against 26-year-old Gabriel Garza Jr. earlier this year.
Kai reportedly told the court that Garza was homeless and living out of his car in the Jupiter and Palm Beach County area.
A judge initially granted a temporary restraining order before later extending the protection during a May hearing. The order is expected to remain in effect until May 2027.

Under the ruling, Garza is barred from stalking, cyberstalking or committing any criminal act that could physically harm Kai Trump.
The order also requires him to stay at least 500 feet away from her residence, workplace and other protected locations connected to her daily life.
The protection reportedly extends to the University of Miami, where Kai recently announced she plans to attend college after graduating high school.
Court proceedings were briefly delayed after Kai asked to move an earlier hearing so she would not miss her final day of high school.
The case marks the second stalking-related security concern involving Kai Trump in less than a year.
In June 2025, another man, Anthony Thomas Reyes, allegedly scaled the walls around Mar-a-Lago while searching for Kai. Authorities said Reyes claimed he wanted to marry Trump’s granddaughter and speak with President Trump.
Kai was reportedly not at Mar-a-Lago during that incident.
Kai Trump has become more visible publicly in recent years, especially during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. She has appeared at political events and built a large social media following, often sharing golf content and family moments.
The restraining order comes during a busy and difficult period for the Trump family. Kai recently celebrated her high school graduation and committed to the University of Miami, while her mother, Vanessa Trump, recently revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and undergone a medical procedure.
The family has also remained in the public spotlight following Donald Trump Jr.’s recent marriage to Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas.
No further details about the restraining order proceedings have been announced.
Why It Matters
The case highlights the security risks that can come with being part of a high-profile political family, especially for younger relatives who maintain a public presence online. It also shows how courts can extend protective orders to schools, workplaces and other daily locations when stalking concerns are raised.
What Comes Next
The restraining order is expected to remain active until May 2027 unless changed by the court. Garza must follow the distance and contact restrictions outlined in the order.
