Trump Mobile Investigates Possible Exposure of Customer Information

Trump Mobile says it is investigating a possible website security issue that may have exposed personal information from people who tried to preorder the company’s gold-colored smartphone.

The phone company, launched by Donald Trump’s family business, said the issue appeared to involve customer details submitted through preorder forms. The potentially affected information includes names, email addresses, mailing addresses, order identifiers and mobile phone numbers.

The company said it is working with independent cybersecurity professionals to review the matter.

Trump Mobile said it has not found evidence that its systems, infrastructure or network were directly compromised. The company also said the incident does not appear to involve payment card information, banking details, Social Security numbers, call records, text messages or other highly sensitive financial data.

According to the company, additional safeguards and monitoring measures have been put in place while the investigation continues. Trump Mobile said it is also reviewing whether any customer notification requirements apply.

The company urged customers to watch for suspicious emails, calls or text messages related to their orders. It also warned that Trump Mobile will not ask customers to provide payment details, passwords or other sensitive information through unsolicited communications.

The possible exposure was discovered around the same time Trump Mobile began distributing its T1 smartphones after months of delays. The phone was first promoted as a gold-colored smartphone connected to the Trump brand.

A programmer who reviewed the website reportedly found that personal details submitted during the preorder process may have been accessible. Another technology expert who examined the code said the site appeared to use a common e-commerce setup, where potential orders were recorded even if customers did not complete the purchase.

That means the number of affected entries may not represent actual paid preorders. Some records may have come from people who started the buying process but abandoned it before paying.

Trump Mobile was introduced in 2025 as part of a broader push by the Trump family business into wireless service and branded smartphones. The product was initially promoted as being designed and built in the United States, though the company’s website now describes the phones as being designed with American values in mind.

The company’s chief executive recently said the first T1 phones were assembled in the United States and that future devices would use components primarily manufactured domestically.

The investigation adds a cybersecurity challenge to Trump Mobile’s rollout as the company begins shipping phones to customers.
